Finally time to update this again.
I moved the website back inhouse and have removed the webcam
completely from the site, because I could never get the dang
thing to work right. Anyway, enjoy the new pictures. |

Long time since I updated
this. I resolved the issues with streaming media not
working. Also have started evaluating alternative webcam
solutions. I have found a new webcam software package that
really kicks butt, and have rewritten the webcam pages to use the
new application, now I just need to find the actual webcam camera
iteself. Hopefully the webcam will be back online for real
this time (grin). |

Update the site with new
contact info since we've moved. Took the webcam offline
again. It has really been offline for quite some time.
I expect to have it back up within the next few weeks. Also,
all site are now hosted with an enterprise hosting provider.
This should substantially improve the performance of the sites as
well as guarantee 99.999% uptime of all content. |

Updated the site with new
pictures. Still working on getting to the video. I
have also added some new functionality that will point out which
picture set and been recently published. |

Quite a few new additions
and updates throughout the site. Added a Help page and also
separated the About This Site page from the site. The
swaffordfamily site will now run completely separate from the
swafnet site. I am also working adding a search function to
the site. Added non-streaming video link on the Family
Videos page. |

Upgraded WebServer
processors to Dual 1000Mhz Processors. Also replaced drive
subsystem with (6) 9GB Ultra2 SCSI SCA drives in a Hot Swap
chassis, increasing internal storage capacity to 45GB with an
excellent storage upgrade path. WebCam changed to Off-Line status
again :( |

Alright, I have been able to
test the Videos and all appears to be working properly.
The video even works over slow Dial-Up links so that project is
now complete. I will continue to work on getting a better
quality video on-line for "High-Speed" users. I
think the QuickTime video is going to go away due to it's
bandwidth requirements and problems with the QuickTime Streaming
Server. |

The wedding video is turning
out to be much more difficult than expected. I am now
running a Windows Media Streaming server to host Windows Media
Files. QuickTime has a Streaming server as well but I have
discovered that its administration features suck and it
frequently crashes. I am
still evaluating both formats. Please let me know if you
have problems. |

Completed the conversion of
the Wedding pictures to the new format. All the pictures
are now converted. Updated My Resume again. |

Major improvements to the
Photos Portion of the site. I have finally found an easy
method for creating a web based photo album. Most of the
pictures have been converted to this already (Thanks to Scott
for the help). The Wedding Pictures are all that is left
but they are in a different format so it'll come a little
later. Combined the Family pictures 'What's New'
section with this one. Combined the Family Pictures and
Wedding Pictures Pages. Just a bit of info for those
interested....I have gone from 8 pages to well over 450 pages
hosted on this site. |

Begin Beta Testing of WebCam
Page. The WebCam will only be online during certain test
periods so it may will not be up when you try to access
it. The biggest problem is that it eats my bandwidth so it
may not stay for long. |

Ok. I've redesigned the entire photos page, added the latest
pictures and changed the format to make it match the rest of the
site. Currently I'm working on a way to dynamically update
this page with new directories but I have no idea where to
begin. So for now I'll just have to manually update it :) |

I'm doing my best to get all the pictures on-line in a better
format, but for now at least they are all here. Some of
these have not been named but you'll get to see all of them.
Just click a link on the Family Pictures page to get to the section you want to view,
then click a file to view the image. I wasn't happy with the
second design idea either (it sucked), but it had to do for a
little while. |
